Curious is proud to announce this world premiere commission by the award-winning playwriting team of Steven Sapp and Mildred Ruiz (THE WAR ANTHOLOGY), who will be in residence in Denver to create an ensemble performance piece which explores questions about homelessness, gentrification and community responsibility. Sapp and Ruiz are co-founders of the group Universes, an ensemble of multi-disciplinary writers and performers who fuse poetry, theater, jazz, hip-hop, politics, down home blues and Spanish boleros to create moving, challenging and entertaining theatrical works.
THE DENVER PROJECT continues Curious’ commitment to exploring our own community through the power of theatre: with our entire city engaged in a discussion around “Denver’s Road Home,” the Mayor’s 10-year plan to eradicate homelessness, now is the perfect time for a theatrical exploration as a platform for community dialogue.
